Ashley were manufacturer of body shells and chassis for specials from 1955 to 1962. They also offered a range of products for special builders: radiators, header tanks, lighting sets, steel tubing, sheet aluminium, various suspension parts, water pumps, tires, tubes and wheels. The company also made bonnets and hardtops for other mass-produced sports cars, including the Austin-Healey Sprite and Jaguar E-Type.

Ashley Laminates was founded in 1955 by Peter Pellandine and Keith Waddington. The name 'Ashley' was chosen as it was the name of Peter Pellandine's house in Woodford Green. They designed and built their first car using GRP for the bodyshell. The two set up a small factory in a garage next to the Robin Hood Inn at Loughton, Essex to produce shells. The garage has now made way for the pub car park.

In late 1956, the Pellandine left the company to found Falcon Shells, another specials company. Pellandine took with him the rights and tooling to manufacture the short wheelbase bodyshell for the Ashley 750 and the Sports Racer which he continued in production as the Falcon Mark 1 and Mark 2 respectively.

In 1958, to increase manufacturing space, Ashley Laminates moved to the Potteries in Upshire, whilst retaining the Loughton premises as a showroom. He also introduced a new bodyshell, the 1172, and the Regent chassis. 1960 saw the introduction of the Sportiva.

In 1961 the company moved again, this time to Bush Fair, Harlow, but the following year production of body shells ceased when the specials market waned, due to a change in Sales Tax rules. The company, however, continued to manufacture GRP hardtops and bonnets for sports cars.

Adverts from 1963 onwards indicate that the company changed names to Ashley Auto Improvements and moved yet again this time to Bishops Stortford in Hertfordshire.

Although Keith Waddington died in the mid-1960s, the company continued until 1972.

London Coach was formed in May, 1984 to fill the need for purpose built cabs left by the 1982 decision by Checker Motors (USA) to discontinue cab production. EPA prototype testing was completed in August, 1985. These specialty vehicles were assembled in the US, using glider kits provided by Carbodies and fitted with 2.3 litre Ford engines and transmissions. Two models were available: The London Taxi and the London Sterling. The Sterling was a limousine version of the taxi. Both were available with or without air conditioning. Production for 1985-1986 was reported as 75. This example is the Sterling model with a divider window, reading lights, oak bar, front and rear air and more.

Autobianchi was an Italian automobile manufacturer, created jointly by Bianchi, Pirelli and Fiat in 1955. Autobianchi produced only a handful of models during its lifetime, which were almost exclusively small cars, with the biggest being the short-lived Autobianchi A111, a small family car. Autobianchis were priced higher than Fiat models of similar size and the brand was used by Fiat to test new and innovative concepts which later found their way into mainstream Fiat vehicles; these concepts included fibreglass bodies and front-wheel drive.

The most famous Autobianchi models include the A112 released in 1969, a small hatchback very popular in Italy for racing, and which ceased production in 1986; as well as the Y10, which was the first car to use Fiat's new FIRE (Fully Integrated Robotised Engine). The Primula was the car with which Fiat introduced the particular front-wheel drive arrangement of engine, transmission and differential (final drive) that has become prevalent in its cars today. This car competed with the Innocenti-built Mini, which was the inspiration for the drivetrain layout.

The first car to be produced by the new company was the Bianchina, whose name was a tribute to Edoardo Bianchi's first 1899 car. The Bianchina was based on Fiat 500 mechanicals – with its two-cylinder, air cooled engine mounted in the rear – but featured a completely new stylish body designed by Luigi Rapi, who was in charge of Fiat's special body unit and helped to set up production in Desio. With many premium design and equipment features, the Bianchina emerged as an upscale minicar, slotting above the Fiat 500 in the market. Marketed as a "second vehicle in the household", and a luxurious "recreational vehicle", also being targeted at affluent middle-class women, it mirrored the increasing affluence in Italian society.

The first Bianchina rolled from the production lines in Desio on September 11, 1957 and had the unusual body style of a two-door landaulet, called "Trasformabile". It remained the sole body style until 1960, when a two-door "Cabriolet" was introduced, followed by a three-door estate version, the "Panoramica" and a two-door saloon, the "Berlina". Finally, two van versions were launched: one resembling a two-seater version of the Panoramica, and another, with a raised and expanded cargo section.
 

Bajaj Auto is a major Indian automobile manufacturer started by a Rajasthani merchant. It is based in Pune, Maharashtra, with plants in Chakan, Waluj and Pantnagar in Uttaranchal. The oldest plant at Akurdi now houses the R&D centre Ahead. Bajaj Auto makes and exports motorscooters, motorcycles and the auto rickshaw.

The Forbes Global 2000 list for the year 2005 ranked Bajaj Auto at 1946.

Over the last decade, the company has successfully changed its image from a scooter manufacturer to a two wheeler manufacturer. Its product range encompasses scooterettes, scooters and motorcycles. Its real growth in numbers has come in the last four years after successful introduction of a few models in the motorcycle segment.

The company is headed by Rahul Bajaj who is worth more than US$1.5 billion.

Bajaj Auto came into existence on November 29, 1945 as M/s Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited. It started off by selling imported two- and three-wheelers in India. In 1959, it obtained license from the Government of India to manufacture two- and three-wheelers and it went public in 1960. In 1970, it rolled out its 100,000th vehicle. In 1977, it managed to produce and sell 100,000 vehicles in a single financial year. In 1985, it started producing at Waluj near Aurangabad. In 1986, it managed to produce and sell 500,000 vehicles in a single financial year. In 1995, it rolled out its ten millionth vehicle and produced and sold 1 million vehicles in a year.

According to the authors of Globality: Competing with Everyone from Everywhere for Everything, Bajaj has grown operations in 50 countries by creating a line of value-for-money bikes targeted to the different preferences of entry-level buyers.
 

Benelli was established in Pesaro, Italy in 1911, which makes it maybe the oldest of all European motorcycles factories in operation. (Moto Guzzi - the oldest European motorcycle factory in non-stop operation - was established in 1921.) After losing her husband, the widow Teresa Benelli invested all of the family capital into the business in the hope that it would offer stable work for her six sons: Giuseppe, Giovanni, Francesco, Filippo, Domenico and Antonio ("Tonino"). She also sent Giuseppe and Giovanni to study Engineering in Switzerland. Initially the business had 6 employees in addition to the 5 brothers working (Tonino didn't work because he was too young.)

In the beginning, it was just the Benelli Garage, which repaired bicycles and motorcycles, but was already able to produce all of the spare parts needed for repairs.[2] During World War I, Benelli worked hard fixing parts for the Italian machines in war and in 1919 the first motorcycle was presented to the public. In 1920 the company built its first complete engine in-house, a single-cylinder two-stroke 75 cc model, immediately adapted to a bicycle frame. A year later in 1921, Benelli built its first motorcycle, using their own engine which had by then become a 98 cc model.

Two years after that, using a version specially designed for competitions, Tonino "the terrible" took to the track. He displayed an extraordinary natural talent as a rider and embarked on a very successful career which confirmed the company's exceptional capacity for development and production. Riding a Benelli 175, Tonino Benelli won four Italian championship titles in five years: in 1927, 1928 and 1930 with the single overhead camshaft (SOHC) version, and in 1931 with the double overhead camshaft (DOHC) version. Unfortunately, a bad crash during a race in 1932 cut short his brilliant career and on 27 September 1937 Tonino died following a "silly" road accident.

As World War II loomed, the Benelli company debuted their four-cylinder supercharged 250cc racing bike. This was intended to compete in the 1940 season, building on Benelli's success in the 1939 Isle of Man TT Lightweight 250 cc race. With the start of the war, the Benelli Four was limited to competition in a handful of Italian domestic races.

Towards the end of the 1960s, the arrival of Japanese manufacturers caused a crisis in the European motorcycle industry. The original Benelli company was heavily involved in the American motorcycle market, selling motorcycles under 350cc through Montgomery Ward. The advent of competition from Japan led to Benelli products (still largely of single cylinder pushrod design) losing popularity as they were perceived as old-fashioned in comparison to Hondas of the era which sported overhead cam engines with electric starters, in much the same way as the British motorcycle manufacturers such as Norton, BSA and Triumph were affected in the larger capacity sector.

This new powerplant featured five main bearings with an unusual ball bearing system. This allowed the engine to rev to 6000 rpm, and 90 hp (67 kW) was reliably produced. Solid axles with leaf springs were used front and rear, and drum brakes at back, operated by cables, were specified. Alloy wheels were a novelty, as was the hollow front axle for reduced unsprung weight.

A rare version was de-bored (to 52 mm) for a total displacement of 1.5 L (1494 cc/91 in³).

1953 WAS A BENCH MARK YEAR FOR CADILLAC AS IT WAS THE BIRTH OF THE ELDORADO WHICH WAS BASED OFF OF THE 62 SERIES CONVERTIBLE LIKE THE ONE WE ARE SHOWING.  BECAUSE OF THE TOWERING PRICE OF $7750, ONLY 532 ELDORADOS WERE BUILT.  THE MORE AFFORDABLE, YET STILL EXPENSIVE 62 SERIES WAS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF CADILLAC YOU COULD GET, NEXT TO THE ELDORADO.  ITS BASE PRICE WAS $4144 AND HAS A PRODUCTION RUN SLIGHTLY OVER 8300.  CADILLACS ALL NEW 331 ENGINE FOR 1953 WAS THE ENGINE THAT STARTED THE HORSEPOWER RACE, IT WAS LIGHT WEIGHT AND HIGH COMPRESSION PUSHING CADILLAC TO BE ONE OF THE FASTEST CARS OF ITS TIME.  THE EXAMPLE WE ARE SHOWING HAS UNDERGONE A COMPLETE BODY OFF FRAME RESTORATION.  THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS DETAILED LIKE FACTORY WITH THE BLACK FRAME BEING ACCENTED BY THE PRIMERED FLOOR BOARDS.  SUSPENSION WAS RESTORED, BUSHINGS REPLACED, ETC.. THE END OF AN ERA!  1976 WAS ANNOUNCED AS THE LAST YEAR FOR THE CADILLAC CONVERTIBLE.  AS A FAREWELL, THE LAST 200 CONVERTIBLES OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE WERE BUILT IDENTICAL AS A SPECIAL BICENTENNIAL EDITION.  EVERY BICENTENNIAL CAME FULLY LOADED WITH EVERY OPTION AND RECEIVED A TRIPLE WHITE COLOR SCHEME WITH RED PIPING ON THE LEATHER SEATS PLUS RED AND BLUE PINSTRIPING ON THE PAINT.  EACH CAR WAS ALSO IDENTIFIED WITH A SPECIAL GOLD PLAQUE ON THE DASH.  THESE CARS BECAME IMMEDIATELY SOUGHT AFTER BY COLLECTORS, WHO WERE BUYING THE CARS NEW AT NEARLY DOUBLE THE STICKER PRICE. THIS CAR WAS NO EXCEPTION, SINCE NEW IT HAS BEEN STORED IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT TO PRESERVE ITS ALL ORIGINAL CONDITION.  WITH ONLY 248 MILES, THE CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL DOWN TO THE TIRES, BELTS AND HOSES.  

FRAME OFF RESTORATION PERFORMED IN THE MID 1990’S; COLLECTOR OWNED SINCE.  EXCEPT FOR ITS OCCASIONAL USE, THIS BEL AIR HAS BEEN STORED IN A PRIVATE, CLIMATE CONTROLLED SHOWROOM.  DURING THE RESTORATION PROCESS, NOT ONLY WAS ATTENTION PAID TO DETAILS SUCH AS THE CORRECT PRIMER FLOOR PANS, BUT MANY UPGRADES WERE ADDED TO ENAHNCE THE CARS RELIABILTY, SAFTY AND COMFORT.  SOME UPGRADES INCLUDE A MODERN VINTAGE BRAND AIR CONDITIONING UNIT, POWER DISC BRAKES WITH DUAL MASTER CYLINDER, STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST AND AN UPDATED STEREO WITH AN ERA CORRECT LOOK.  NOT ONLY ARE THE ENGINE NUMBER MATCHING, BUT THE CAR WAS REPAINTED IN ITS RARE, FACTORY LARKSPUR BLUE COLOR.  QUALITY, OPTIONS, APPEAL AND AUTHENTICITY. 

ONE OF 600 CORVETTES SOLD IN 1954!  ONLY 600 OF THE ALREADY LOW PRODUCTION 1954 CORVETTES ACTUALLY SOLD IN 1954; THE REMAINING 3004 CORVETTES WERE SOLD OFF DURING THE 1955 SALES YEAR.  THE BASE PRICE FOR THESE FIRST GENERATION CORVETTES WAS ONLY $2774.  THIS ONE IS ESPECIALLY RARE BECAUSE OF ITS LOW PRODUCTION COLOR, WHILE MOST CORVETTES BUILT WERE WHITE, ONLY ABOUT 100 WERE PRODUCED IN SPORTSMANS RED.  EACH CORVETTE WAS EQUIPPED WITH A 155HP, 235 CI SIX CYLINDER ENGINE FED BY TRIPLE CARBURETORS AND POWERED THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.  THIS FINE CORVETTE UNDERWENT A FRAME OFF RESTORATION IN THE LATE 1980'S AND HAS BEEN STORED IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT SINCE.

THE CHRYSLER AIRFLOW WAS FIRST MARKETED IN 1934, ITS DESIGN WAS AERODYNAMICALLY INSPIRED AND CONSIDER RADICAL FOR ITS TIME. IT BUBBLE SHAPE FRONT END WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY THE AUTO INDUSTRY TILL THE LATE 30'S EARLY 40'S.  IT WAS THE AIRFLOW THAT INFLUENCED THE DESIGN OF THE LINCOLN ZEPHYR AS WELL AS MANY OTHER CARS BOTH FROM DETROIT AND OVER-SEAS.  1937 WAS THE LAST YEAR FOR THE AIRFLOW, ONLY 4600 WERE PRODUCED AND THEY CARRIED A PRICE TAG OF $1610 NEW.  THE AIR FLOW WILL ALWAYS BE KNOWN AS THE CAR THAT PRODDED THE AUTO INDUSTRY INTO EMBRACING NEW TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN CONCEPTS.  THIS AIRFLOW HAS BEEN PART OF THE DEZER COLLECTION SINCE THE EARLY 80'S WHEN IT RECEIVED A GROUND UP RESTORATION.

IN THEIR 25TH YEAR,THE CHRYSLER LINE UP FOR 1949 RECEIVED A COMPLETE MAKEOVER. THIS ONE YEAR ONLY TOWN AND COUNTRY WAS AVAILABLE JUST AS A CONVERTIBLE AND IN A LIMITED NUMBER OF 1000, 1 HARD TOP WAS BUILT AS A PROTOTYPE.  THEY WERE TRUE WOODIES AND NOT A MERE STEEL CAR WITH ADD-ON WOOD PANELS.  EACH OF THEM WERE BUILT BY HAND.  THIS PARTICULAR T & C IS THE 88TH CAR TO HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED MAKING IT ONE OF THE EARLIEST.  OF THE 1000 CARS BUILT, ONLY APROX. 150 HAVE SURVIVED.  THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEZER COLLECTION FOR THE PAST 28 YEARS.

The Citroën DS was an executive car produced by the French manufacturer Citroën between 1955 and 1975. Styled by Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni, the DS was known for its aerodynamic futuristic body design and innovative technology, including a hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension.

The DS advanced achievable standards in automobile ride quality, handling, and braking.  Citroën sold nearly 1.5 million D-series during the model's 20-year production run. The DS came in third in the 1999 Car of the Century competition, recognizing the world's most influential auto designs, and was named the most beautiful car of all time by Classic & Sports Car magazine.

This particular car is in original condition with minimal restoration work done overthe years as was needed.

The Citroën Méhari is a utility car and off-roader produced by the French automaker Citroën. 144,953 Méharis were built between 1968 and 1988. A Méhari is a type of fast-running dromedary camel, which can be used for racing or transport. A Méhariste was a French Armée d'Afrique and Army of the Levant cavalryman that used these camels.

The Méhari was based on the Citroën Dyane 6, and had a body made of ABS plastic with a soft-top. It also employed the 602 cc flat twin gasoline engine shared with the 2CV6 and Citroën Ami. A four-wheel drive version of the Méhari was produced from 1980 to 1983 and had excellent off-road qualities, due to the lightness of the vehicle (the standard Méhari weighs just 570 kg (1,257 lb)) and the interconnected fully independent long travel 2CV suspension used by all of the Citroën 'A-Series' vehicles. US import
The Méhari was sold in the United States for one year, 1970, where the vehicle was classified as a truck. As trucks had far more lenient safety standards than passenger cars in the US, the Méhari did not have seat belts. Only 214 Méharis were sold in 1970

Distinctions for the US-model included:

Altered front with 7" sealed-beam headlamps and special indicator/side-lamps with flat tops.
Special boot (trunk) lid with room for US registration plate and a lamp (Lucas) either side of it.
Straight rear bumper.
Two speed wiper motor.

The CitiCar was produced between 1974 and 1977 by a U.S. company called Sebring-Vanguard, Inc., based in Florida. The CitiCar and variants are the most produced electric car in American automobile history. Sebring-Vanguard was sold to Commuter Vehicles, Inc. after Sebring-Vanguard was declared bankrupt in 1977. Commuter Vehicles, Inc. produced similar vehicles (the Comuta-Car and Comuta-Van) from 1979 to 1982. 

The CitiCar was a small electric vehicle, first produced in Florida in 1974 by a company called Sebring-Vanguard partly in response to the mid-1970s fuel crisis. The CitiCar was a tiny golf cart sized car that could go at a top speed of about 39 mph (63 km/h). Early versions had no extra features such as locking doors or air conditioning. In 1976, enough CitiCars were produced to promote Sebring-Vanguard to the position of being the U.S. #6 auto manufacturer after GM, Ford, Chrysler, AMC, and Checker (Taxis...) Production of the CitiCar continued until 1977 with about 2,300 CitiCars produced. Commuter Vehicles, Inc. purchased the CitiCar design, and renamed the vehicle Comuta-Car. Production of an upgraded version began in 1979 and Commuter Vehicles, Inc. produced an estimated 2,000 Comuta-Cars and Comuta-Vans. At about 4,300 C-Car variants produced, it still holds the record for most road-legal electric cars made in automobile history.

The CitiCar came in three models. The original Coupe was the smallest of the three. It had a flat diagonal front, a flat roof, and a flat nearly vertical back. Early coupes had a 2.5 HP motor and 36v battery pack. Later coupes had a 3.5 HP motor and 48v battery pack, and numerous small improvements. The later Comuta-Car model had a larger 6 HP motor, and moved the batteries from under the seat to the bumpers, making the vehicle about 16 inches (410 mm) longer than the 8-foot (2.4 m) long CitiCar. The largest of the three was called the CitiVan, or Comuta-Van. The overall length was increased to 142 inches (3,600 mm), and it had a 12 HP motor, 72v battery pack, and 3-speed transmission. It still held two passengers, but also had room for storage. It was the only model with a trunk and sliding door. Many Comuta-Vans were built with right-hand-drive for the US Postal Service. All vehicles were built with welded aluminum pipe space frames and ABS plastic bodies, with solid axles and leaf spring suspension front and rear. Top speeds were about 30-50 mph, and range was up to 40 miles per charge.

The Cushman Company produced motor scooters from 1936 to 1965. Light, compact, and rugged, they were widely used by the US military in World War II and as an alternative to automobiles in the years before and after the war. Cushmans were easy to ride and had an automatic clutch which allowed the rider to twist the right grip to go and step on the pedal to stop. The step-through design and ease of operation made it popular with men and women alike. Cushman claimed an efficiency of 75 miles per gallon, and a penny-a-mile operating cost. The scooters usually weighted about 250 to 335 pounds (110–152 kg) and some had as much as 9 horsepower (6.7 kW).

The most successful Cushman model, the Eagle, was manufactured from 1949 to the end of Cushman's motorcycle production in 1965. With its exposed engine and top tanks, it resembled a conventional motorcycle, and was technically no longer a scooter. Other Cushman models used a traditional step-through design of most motor scooters.[17] One of the most famous was the “Model 53”, a military model from the World War II era. It was designed to be dropped by parachute with Army Airborne troops, so it became known as the “Cushman Airborne”. Cushman scooters also used around military bases for messenger service.

The Cushman company operated from 1903 to 2003. The company was started in Lincoln, Nebraska, by Everett and Clinton Cushman. The company officially incorporated as Cushman Motor Works in 1913. Until 1936 it produced engines for farm equipment, pumps, lawn mowers and boats. From 1936 till 1965 it produced motor scooters, widely used by the US military in World War II and as alternative to automobiles before and after the war. After scooter production ceased, Cushman manufactured golf carts, industrial vehicles and turf maintenance equipment.

Other Cushman models used a step-through design common for scooters. Some late 50s Cushmans, designated Road King and Pacemaker, had jet-age body styling. Sears sold a version of these models under the Allstate brand.

Cushman became a division of the Outboard Marine Corporation in 1962. Ransomes (of Great Britain) purchased Cushman in 1989, and then Textron purchased Ransomes.
 

The DAF 55 is a small family car that was manufactured by the Dutch company DAF. The saloon was launched at the end of 1967, with the coupe version launched three months later, in March 1968, and the estate version six months after that in September 1968.[2] In September 1972 the DAF 55 was replaced by the DAF 66.

The cars featured the unique Variomatic belt-driven continuously variable transmission.

Power came from a Renault 1108 cc water-cooled engine based on the unit which at the time already powered the Renault 10.

POSSIBLY THE MOST FAMOUS PRODUCTION CAR OF ITS ERA AND A TRUE 80'S ICON, THANKS TO ITS USE AS A TIME MACHINE IN THE BACK TO THE FUTURE MOVIES!  BUILT BY JOHN DELOREAN, THE SELF NAMED DELOREAN MOTOR CAR WAS THE ONLY DELOREAN MODEL EVER BUILT IN ITS SHORT 2 YEAR RUN.  DELOREAN WAS A DESIGNER OF MANY WELL KNOW HISTORIC CARS, INCLUDING PONTIAC'S GTO.  THE CONCEPT STARTED IN 1976, AND WAS PARTIALLY FUNDED BY HOLLYWOOD CELEBRITIES, SUCH AS JOHNNY CARSON.  MANY CHANGES WERE MADE DURING ITS 5 YEAR DEVELOPING STAGES, BUT THE TWO MOST DISTINCTIVE TRAITS REMAINED UNCHANGED, THE GULWING DOORS AND STAINLESS STEEL BODY.  THE PRODUCTION HALTED IN 1982 AFTER THE COMPANY FILED BANKRUPTCY FOLLOWING JOHN DELOREANS ARREST FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING.  WHILE THE UN-USED PARTS WERE SOLD OFF, IT IS SAID THAT THE PRODUCTION DIES WERE DUMPED IN THE OCEAN SO THE CAR COULD NEVER BE DUPLICATED AGAIN.  ONLY 9200 WERE PRODUCED OF WHICH A SAID 6500 STILL EXIST.  OUR CAR HAS ONLY 21K ACTUAL, UN-RESTORED MILES.  IT IS A LATE '81 MODEL WITH AN OCTOBER PRODUCTION DATE. 

THIS RARE, 1 0F 3385 BUILT,  DESOTO CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE HAS BEEN A PART OF THE DEZER COLLECTION SINCE 1986.  WITH ONLY 60K MILES IT WAS IN AN AMAZING PRESERVED CONDITION PRIOR TO IS GROUND UP RESTORATION. 

It was the end of the era when the last 600 wood-bodied station wagons were produced for DeSoto in the 1950 model year. Even in its last year, they continued to reign as the most expensive model in the marque’s line-up, over $1,000 more than a comparable model from Ford or Chevrolet.

This DeSoto Custom Station Wagon was treated to a full cosmetic restoration several years ago. It was repainted in its original Andante Green metallic, which complements the golden oak and mahogany wood grains. Close inspection reveals the talents and craftsmanship that went into the creation of this rolling work of art. From the clear amber plastic replica of the famed explorer for whom the car is named, to the fit and finish of the doors and rear gate, you will marvel at the skill of those who assembled this vehicle.

The Fiat 500 is a car produced by the Fiat company of Italy between 1957 and 1975, with limited production of the Fiat 500 K estate continuing until 1977. The car was designed by Dante Giacosa.

Launched as the Nuova (new) 500 in July 1957, it was marketed as a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only 3 meters (10 feet) long, and originally powered by a tiny 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term "small car" and is considered one of the first city cars.

To meet the demands of the post-war market which called for economy cars, the Fiat 500 was rear-engined on the pattern of the Volkswagen Beetle, just like its bigger brother, the 1955 Fiat 600. Several car makers followed the now uncommon rear engine configuration at the time and were quite successful. The Neckar version manufactured in Heilbronn under a complicated deal involving NSU, was introduced in October 1961. In Upper Austria the firm of Steyr-Puch also produced cars based, by agreement, on the Fiat 500.

Despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe. Besides the two-door coupé, it was also available as the "Giardiniera" station wagon; this variant featured the standard engine laid on its side, the wheelbase lengthened by 10 cm (4 in) which yielded a usable rear seat, a full-length sunroof, and larger brakes from the Fiat 600.

Sports models were produced by Abarth. An Austrian variant, produced by Steyr-Daimler-Puch, the 1956-1969 Steyr-Puch 500, had a motorcycle-derived Puch boxer twin motor, a sports model of which was the 1964-1968 Steyr-Puch 650 TR2.

Production of the 500 ended in 1975, although its replacement, the Fiat 126, was launched two years earlier. The 126 was never as popular as its predecessor in Italy, but was (and still is) enormously popular in the former Eastern Bloc countries, where it is famed for mechanical durability and fuel economy.

Launched as the Nuova (new) 500 in July 1957, it was marketed as a cheap and practical town car. Measuring only 3 meters (10 feet) long, and originally powered by a tiny 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, the 500 redefined the term "small car" and is considered one of the first city cars.

To meet the demands of the post-war market which called for economy cars, the Fiat 500 was rear-engined on the pattern of the Volkswagen Beetle, just like its bigger brother, the 1955 Fiat 600. Several car makers followed the now uncommon rear engine configuration at the time and were quite successful. The Neckar version manufactured in Heilbronn under a complicated deal involving NSU, was introduced in October 1961. In Upper Austria the firm of Steyr-Puch also produced cars based, by agreement, on the Fiat 500.

Despite its diminutive size, the 500 proved to be an enormously practical and popular vehicle throughout Europe. Besides the two-door coupé, it was also available as the "Giardiniera" station wagon; this variant featured the standard engine laid on its side, the wheelbase lengthened by 10 cm (4 in) which yielded a usable rear seat, a full-length sunroof, and larger brakes from the Fiat 600.

Sports models were produced by Abarth. An Austrian variant, produced by Steyr-Daimler-Puch, the 1956-1969 Steyr-Puch 500, had a motorcycle-derived Puch boxer twin motor, a sports model of which was the 1964-1968 Steyr-Puch 650 TR2.

Production of the 500 ended in 1975, although its replacement, the Fiat 126, was launched two years earlier. The 126 was never as popular as its predecessor in Italy, but was (and still is) enormously popular in the former Eastern Bloc countries, where it is famed for mechanical durability and fuel economy.

The Fiat 850 is a small rear-engined rear wheel drive car, it was produced between 1964 and 1973.  The engine of the 850 was based on that of the Fiat 600, but had its capacity increased to 843 cc. The 850 came in two versions: "normale" (standard) with 34 hp (25 kW) and "super" with 37 hp (28 kW). The maximum speed was approximately 125 km/h (78 mph). While it was not a large step forward in technical development, it possessed a certain charm with its large rolling eyes and its short tail, in which the engine sat.

Italy's location on the Mediterranean Sea meant innumerable beachfront cities and resorts. There was a brisk trade in beach buggy conversions of regular cars by the many specialist coachbuilders throughout Italy at the time. One such specialist was Ghia, who created the Jolly conversions on Fiat's 500, 600, Multipla and Giardiniera platforms.

Known at home a La Spiaggina, a word difficult to translate but something like "beach-ette", the Fiat beach-buggy was marketed worldwide as the Jolly, meaning "joker" in Italian, but also meaning something light, fun, funny and pretty in several languages.

The car was quite expensive ($1760.00 compared to $998.00 for a standard 500) and was bought by the rich and famous (Aristotle Onassis, Yul Brynner) as yacht tenders, golf carts and estate runabouts. As a result, most surviving examples have covered low mileages only.

They were sold in the USA between 1958 and 1961. Considered a success, the model had a healthy run from 1958 to 1966.

The cars' specification included cut-down sides and windshield, a striped and fringed surrey top, and chromed body-pipework. They were available in pink, coral, white, pale yellow and sky blue. Mechanicals were standard Fiat. An "economical" version was available from 1964 to 1966 featuring normal bumpers with no pipework and solid plastic seats embossed with a fake wicker pattern.

This particular Jolly has only 8k actual miles and is in all original condition.  It is guessed that less than 100 of the approximate 800 cars built still exist today.

Suspension at the back initially depended on quarter-elliptic rear springs, but somehow buyers frequently squeezed four or five people into the nominally two seater car, and in later models the chassis was extended at the rear to allow for more robust semi-elliptic springs.

Its top speed was about 53 mph (85 km/h), and it could achieve about 39.2 miles per US gallon (6.00 L/100 km; 47.1 mpg_-imp). The target price given when the car was planned was 5,000 lire. In the event the price at launch was 9,750 lire, though the decade was one of falling prices in several part of Europe and later in the 1930s the Topolino was sold for about 8,900 lire. Despite being more expensive than first envisaged, the car was very competitively priced. Nearly 520,000 were sold.

Volga (Russian: Волга) is an automobile brand that originated in the Soviet Union to replace the venerated GAZ-M20 Pobeda in 1956. Modern in design, it became a symbol of higher status in the Soviet nomenklatura. Volga cars were also traditionally used as taxi cabs, road police interceptors, and ambulances (based on the estate versions).

The first Volga model was originally developed as a replacement for the very successful GAZ-M20 Pobeda mid-size car which was produced since 1946. However despite its design in form of chassis and body styling, the rapid evolution of the latter in the 1950s already caused Soviet designers in 1951 to put forward a project for its eventual replacement. In 1952 two parallel projects were set up by GAZ: Zvezda ("Star"), which was a futuristic fastback with panoramic windows and large tailfins, and Volga with more conventional styling, which was more realistically suited for the production realities of the 1950s.

By the spring of 1954 the Volga prototypes were being actively tested. The new car introduced a range of additions and advantages over the Pobeda; in addition to being bigger, it had single panoramic forward and rear windscreens, a larger four-cylinder overhead-valve engine, central lubrication of the main chassis elements, hypoidal rear axle and automatic hydromechanical gearbox.

The car's external design was made by Lev Yeremeev and largely influenced by Western vehicles of the same period, American in particular. Internal design, however, was mostly independent, with an exception for the automatic transmission that was developed from the 3-speed Ford-O-Matic.

After thorough testings of the car, which lasted for a further two years, in which several changes were accommodated for, GAZ finally launched the first pre-production batch left GAZ on 10 October 1956. These were used in much publicised promotion drives across the whole Soviet Union where they notched up to 29 thousand kilometres. In 1957 more larger batches were produced and the conveyor came operational in late 1957.

There were three different models of this generation:

'56 Volga - now usually referred to as the "first series" - came into serial production in 1957 and initially had modified Pobeda's flathead 65 hp engine, as the planned overhead-valve 70 hp ZMZ-21 was prepared for serial production only in summer of 1957. The first series of the M-21 Volga was produced right up to November 1958 during which across 30 thousand such cars were assembled. Today they remain the rarest version of the car, and are highly desirable for car collectors.

1967 GOGGOMOBIL TS 250 COLLECTABLE MICROCOMMUTER

The Goggomobil T250 was introduced by Glas at the 1954 IFMA international bicycle and motorcycle show. The T250 was a conventional-looking two door sedan with a rear-mounted 245 cc air cooled two-stroke straight twin engine.

Design changes were made to the T250 in 1957. Two windshield wipers were used instead of the earlier system with one wiper, and the sliding windows in the doors were changed to wind-up windows. Also at this time the T300 and T400 became available; these had larger engines of 300 cc and 400 cc respectively.

The last design change for the T sedan came in 1964, when the rear-hinged suicide doors were replaced by conventional front-hinged doors.

Goggomobil TS-250. This car is not only cute, but even the name is fun to say! The Goggomobil is a product of Germany and was produced from 1955 till 1969 after being purchased by BMW. The TS 250 featured 4-wheel independent suspension; a rear mounted 2 cylinder -- 2 stroke -- 247 cc engine and a manual transmission that would bring it to a top speed of 50 mph. Don't let the 10" wheels or small stature fool you, this sports coupe actually holds up to four people comfortably! The bodylines are sleek and sexy while the interior is dressed up with a touch of elegance featuring a real wood dash.  Only 6700 of the ts-250's were built over a duration of 12 years.

Goggomobil was a series of microcars produced in the Bavarian town Dingolfing after World War II by Glas.

Glas produced three models on the Goggomobil platform: the Goggomobil T sedan, the Goggomobil TS coupé, and the Goggomobil TL van. The engine was an air cooled, two stroke, two cylinder unit originally displacing 250 cc, but later available in increased sizes of 300 cc and 400 cc. It had an electric pre-selective transmission built by Getrag and a manual clutch. The engine was behind the rear wheels. Suspension was independent all round using coil springs with swing axles.

214,313 sedans, 66,511 coupés, and 3,667 Transporter vans and pickups were built from 1955 to 1969.

The Goggomobil TS 2+2 coupe was introduced at the 1957 IFMA show alongside the improved T sedan. It was available as the TS250, the TS300, and the TS400, the number reflecting the approximate engine size in cubic centimeters.

The only major design change to the TS coupe was the change from rear-hinged suicide doors to front-hinged conventional doors in 1964.

The TS coupe was always ten to twenty percent more expensive than the T sedan.

GRAHAM MOTORS MADE AN AGREEMENT WITH HUPMOBILE TO BUILD THE BODIES FOR THE HUPMOBILE SKYLARK, IN RETURN, GRAHAM WOULD BE ALLOWED TO BUILD THEIR OWN VERSION OF THE CAR.  THE BODIES FOR BOTH CARS WERE BUILT USING THE DIES PURCHASED FROM CORD THAT WERE USED TO MAKE THE CORD MODEL 810 / 812.  FROM THE COWL BACK, BOTH THESE CARS ARE ESSENTIALLY THE BODY OF A CORD WINCHESTER.  VISUALLY THE GRAHAM AND HUPMOBILE WERE IDENTICAL EXCEPT FOR SLIGHT VARIATIONS WITH THE GRILL.  EACH COMPANY, HOWEVER, DID USE THEIR OWN ENGINES.  THE GRAHAM USED A 217 INLINE 6 WITH THE OPTION OF A SUPERCHARGER WHILE THE HUPMOBILE USED A 245 INLINE 6.  A TOTAL OF ONLY 1597 HOLLYWOODS WERE PRODUCED.  THIS CAR HAS BEEN PART OF THE DEZER COLLECTION SINCE THE EARLY 80'S AND RECEIVED A GROUND UP RESTORATION.

The Harley Davidson legend was born in 1901, with brothers William and Walter Harley and Arthur Davidson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Production began in 1903 when they built a grand total of three bikes, but these creations, made with borrowed tools and metal, were different from any other motorbikes at the time. They had a loop frame, a design that was unique to them, and were powered by a tiny three horsepower engine. By 1920 Harley Davidson had become the largest motorbike manufacturer in the world with dealers in 67 countries. In that year sales rose by a staggering 5000 percent.

The 'Knucklehead' engine was introduced in 1936 and the 1947 Harley Davidson EL 61 was the last bike to use it. The name was given to the engine by bikers who christened it Knucklehead because the valve covers looked like a fist with two knuckles. The engine was the first to use an oil circulation system, a vast improvement on the total loss system of previous models. The 1947 Harley Davidson had a new handshift four-speed transmission and a 'suicide clutch' which was operated by foot. It was the only civilian Harley Davidson OHV to use the straight leg frame until its re-introduction after the Second World War in 1954. The 1947 Harley Davidson with its wrap-around oil tank, rounded teardrop gas tank and many chrome accessories was a revelation in motorbike engineering.

The Heinkel Kabine was a microcar designed by Heinkel Flugzeugwerke and built by them from 1956 to 1958. Production was transferred under licence to Dundalk Engineering Company in Ireland in 1958 but the licence was withdrawn shortly afterward due to poor quality control.  Production restarted in 1960, again under licence, under the Trojan 200 name by Trojan Cars Ltd. in the UK, and continued until 1966.

The Heinkel Kabine were also assembled from 1959 to 1962 under licence by Los Cedros S.A. as Heinkel in Argentina, they were built alongside Studebaker pickups.

Production began in March 1956 with the Kabine Model 150, using the 174 cc 9.2 hp single cylinder four-stroke engine that powered the Heinkel Tourist scooter. In October 1956, Heinkel introduced the Kabine Model 153 (with three wheels) and the Kabine Model 154 (with four wheels), both with 204 cc engines. The engines in these models were later reduced in capacity to 198 cc for insurance purposes.

The Kabine had a steel unit body.  Access to the interior was by an opening front but in order not to infringe Iso Rivolta's patent used on the Isetta the steering wheel did not move with the door. However it did feature a reverse gear unlike some other bubble cars.

HMV (HIGH MILEAGE VEHICLE) WAS PRODUCED IN BURNSVILLE MN FROM 1979 THROUGH 1982 WHEN IT CLOSED BECAUSE OF FINACIAL DIFFICULTIES.  IT WAS A 1 SEATER THAT WAS CAPABLE OF 100 MPG AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 55 MPH.  FULL FIBERGLASS BODY WITH AN INTERIOR FOR 1 PERSON.  OPENING REAR HATCH ALLOWED ACCESS FOR STORAGE.  THIS PARTICULAR HMV IS A 1 OWNER CAR AND IN ALL ORIGINAL CONDITION INCLUDING THE GEL COAT WHICH STILL SHINES NICELY.  THE BARE METAL PARTS ARE STILL LCEAN METAL WITH NO RUST!  ALWAYS STORED IN-DOORS AND ONLY 7K ACTUAL MILES.  THIS IS A COLLECTORS ITEM BECAUSE OF ITS CONDITION AND UNIQUENESS.  EXCELLENT MUSEUM PIECE.

Hodaka was a joint Japanese and American company that manufactured motorcycles in the 1960s and 1970s.

The company also went by the name PABATCO, for Pacific Basin Trading Company.[1] Its headquarters were in the rural town of Athena, Oregon. Pabatco was owned by Shell Oil Company from 1965 to 1978.[2] The name Hodaka is rumored to have been borrowed from a mountain near the factory. After opening its doors in 1964, Hodaka is credited by some with starting the trail bike craze in the United States. Hodaka models included the Ace 90, Ace 100, Wombat, Combat Wombat, Super Combat, Super Rat, Dirt Squirt, Road Toad and Thunderdog.

In the late 1970s, a combination of events led to the demise of Hodaka. Falling US dollar exchange rates against the Japanese yen, a shift in demand from dirt bikes to larger road bikes, and general economic weakness fatally wounded the company. Hodaka attempted a purchase of Fuji Heavy Industries —the Japanese company which manufactured most Hodaka engines—but were rebuffed. Around 1980, Hodaka ceased all operations. Its tooling was later sold to the Korean company Daelim.

This car is the personal car to ED "BIG DADDY" ROTH. By the early 1960s there were very few "car crazy" teenagers in the world who hadn't heard of Ed "Big Daddy Roth." Roth was a larger than life character whose cars dazzled you by their wild lines, colors and chrome. He was as much an artist as a hot rodder. Roth's first hot rod was a 1933 Ford Coupe he painted in his parent's driveway with his mother's vacuum cleaner as a teenager. Going to high school in the late forties in California everybody had a hot rod and Roth wanted the best. "Big Daddy" went on to create such memorable rods and rolling sculptures as the Outlaw, Beatnik Bandit, Rotar, Tweedy Pie, Mysterion, Orbitron, Wishbone, Fang and the Druid Princess. Although Roth loved typical rods he also liked the unusual in his personal everyday kind of cars. He fell in love with the new Kaiser Henry J, but soon removed the "hump" from the grille. After getting out of the air force he couldn't keep-up with the payments and bought a 1948 Ford sedan. It was soon painted with signage advertising his painting skills in pin striping, flames, scalloping, etc. 

This rolling advertising became part of Roth's way of life owning various vehicles over the years. Roth bought a new red 1970 Honda 600 Coupe which was quickly painted to promote Roth's skills. The tiny Coupe performed yeoman duty over the next few years before being replaced by a series of Honda Civics. As well as being used for advertising the diminutive Honda hauled VW trike bodies and parts on a regular basis. A rarely seen microcar in its own right, this small slice of Americana will draw crowds wherever it goes. Recently this car sold for nearly $60,000. The Dream 305 motorcycle followed in the footsteps of the Super Cub and was also enjoying healthy sales by the mid Sixties. Like the Super Cub, it was light and easy to handle. Its 305 cc overhead-cam twin-cylinder engine gave the bike a top speed of almost 160 km/h (100 mph).

It could be dressed up with saddlebags, luggage racks, and a windshield to increase its usefulness both as a commuter and a touring bike.

Production lasted ten years when it was replaced by larger models like the CB450 and later by the 750 Four.

The reaction of the rest of the cycling manufacturers toward the Super Cub and the Dream should have been one of alarm. Instead, they thought of Honda as just another scooter company.
 

The Honda Valkyrie is a motorcycle that was manufactured by Honda, from model years 1997–2003. It was designated GL1500C in the US market and F6C in other markets.

The Valkyrie engine is a 1520 cc horizontally-opposed six cylinder liquid cooled boxer engine transplanted from Honda's Goldwing model. This was unusual since most "cruiser" style motorcycles were based on a V-twin engine design similar to the engine of a Harley-Davidson. In its transplant from the Goldwing, the most notable engine changes were the camshaft and the change to six individual 28 mm carburetors, one for each cylinder. These changes were made to increase power and torque. These changes also gave the engine a little more character by giving it a unique sound.

The Valkyrie was offered with a reverse gear in Japan. The Valkyrie was made in the U.S.A. at the Honda motorcycle plant in Marysville, Ohio.
 

FROM 1939 - 40 HUPMOBILE BUILT ONLY 319 OF THESE RARE SKYLARKS.  BUILT USING THE BODY DIES OF THE CORD 810 / 812.  IT WAS TO BE AN ECONOMICAL VERSION OF THE LUXURY CORD AUTOMOBILE.  THEY MADE THE CAR MORE AFFORDABLE BY USING A REAR WHEEL DRIVE VERSE CORDS FRONT WHEEL DRIVE.  BESIDES THE FRONT CLIP, THE HUPMOBILE HAS THE SAME BODY AS THE CORD FROM THE COWL BACK.  THE CAR WAS REMARKABLE AND AN IMMEDIATE HIT WITH THE PUBLIC.  HOWEVER THE PRODUCTION SPEED COULD NOT MEET THE DEMAND OF THE PUBLIC BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTIES IN PRODUCING THE BODIES.  HUPMOBILE TURNED TO GRAHAM MOTORS TO HELP BUILD THE BODIES.  IN RETURN, GRAHAM WAS ALLOWED TO USE THE DIES TO PRODUCE THEIR OWN VERSION OF THE CAR.   THIS STUNNING BEAUTY WAS ACQUIRED BY THE DEZER COLLECTION IN THE EARLY 80'S AFTER IT RECEIVED A GROUND UP RESTORATION.

Featuring handcrafted leather solo saddle and saddlebags, engine and saddlebag guards, a rounded windshield with a headlight housing, a polished aluminum luggage rack, and other "authentic" styling details, the latest version of the Indian Chief motorcycle "celebrates the art of machinery."

Powered by the air-cooled 100-cubic-inch (1638cc) 45-degree Powerplus engine with its distinctive rounded and serrated rocker boxes, the Vintage is essentially the standard Chief with special touches, The seat is covered in four-ounce leather embossed with the Indian script. The saddlebags include water-resistant liners and are constructed from eight-ounce leather. They wear chrome-plate buckles and buttons and leather fringe. Their tops are embossed with the Indian script. Other touches include die-cast tips for the trademark deep-valence fenders, and an ornate die-cast aluminum horn cover over the low-tone Fiamm horn. Clear-lens driving lights bracket a vintage-cut windshield, The engine and saddlebag guards are modeled on those used on Indians built in the 1930s through the 1950s. A new chrome brace for the rear fender is intended to add rigidity and protection.

King Midget was a kit car produced between 1946 and 1970 by the Midget Motors Corporation. Claud Dry and Dale Orcutt first sold the King Midget as part of their Midget Motors Supply operations in Athens, Ohio. By 1948, they began to use the name Midget Motors Manufacturing Co., too. In about 1956, Dry and Orcutt changed the name of their company to Midget Motors Corporation.

The King Midget was a very small car and it used a one-speed automatic transmission of their own design. It drove only one rear wheel, eliminating the need for a differential. Dry and Orcutt designed the Midget while working as Civil Air Patrol pilots during World War II. The car used many aircraft techniques to make it lighter.

The first generation was offered only as a kit, with a US$270 instruction manual, chassis, axles, steering assembly, springs, plus dimensioned patterns for the sheet metal. It would accept any one-cylinder engine. Through 1951, the Model 1 was also available in assembled form, powered by a 6 hp (4.5 kW) Wisconsin engine.

In 1951, the Model 2 was developed. It was a two-passenger convertible offered either fully assembled or as a kit, powered by a 23 cu in (0.4 L)[2] 7.5 hp (5.6 kW) sidevalve Wisconsin AENL engine. With a 72 in (1,800 mm) wheelbase (8 in (200 mm) less than a Crosley 4CC), it measured only 102 in (260 cm) overall. The Model 2 was still a very basic car; it had no speedometer or reverse, but it was light, strong, and available for just $500. In 1955, a custom model of the Model 2 was introduced. It lasted through 1957, with the price remaining under $550. By contrast, a four-passenger 1952 Crosley CD sedan could be had, fully assembled, for US$943, and a wagon as low as US$1002.

THE LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK I IS CONSIDERED BY THE CLASSIC CAR CLUB OF AMERICA TO BE ONE OF THE LAST FULL CLASSIC CARS EVER BUILT.  DURING THE PRODUCTION OF THE 46-48 BODY STYLE ONLY 1241 CONVERTIBLES WERE BUILT AND COST NEW NEARLY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS.  THE V-12 ENGINE HAD A DISPLACEMENT OF 337 CI AND A HORSE POWER RATING OF 152.  THIS LINCOLN IS AN EXAMPLE OF A MAINTAINED CAR THAT WAS ONLY RESTORED AS NEEDED OVER THE YEARS.  IT WAS PURCHASED BY THE DEZER COLLECTION IN 1987.

Pietro Frua designed a coupé on the basis of the Lloyd Alexander; it was presented at the Turin Motor Show in November 1958.

The parent company failed in 1961 but cars were still made up to 1963. By this time, the LP 900 was named "Borgward Arabella" instead of "Lloyd Arabella".

Fritz Fend (April 14, 1920 – November 22, 2000): was an aeronautical engineer. He worked for Messerschmitt and designed the famous Kabinenroller (cabinscooter) KR175 / KR200.

Fend was a technical officer with the Luftwaffe during World War II.  In 1955, Messerschmitt replaced the KR175 with the KR200. Apart from a larger engine, the KR200 had improved suspension (introducing shock absorbers to the design), improved engine mounting, larger tires, improved controls, and a means by which to reverse the car. Reverse was accomplished not by including a reverse gear in the transmission but by reversing the rotation of the engine itself.

KR200 production expanded to three models in 1957 with the introduction of the "Kabrio" convertible and the KR201 Roadster.

Production of the KR200 was heavily reduced in 1962 and ceased in 1964.

STARTING IN 1952 MESSERSCHMITT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BUILD AIRPLANES.  DURING THIS TIME THEY TURNED TO BUILDING A SMALL AUTOMOBILE, CALLED THE KABINENROLLER, OR "KR", WHICH WAS BUILT UNTIL 1964.  THE CAR WAS DESIGNED FROM AN INVALID CARRIAGE AND IS CONSIDERED A SCOOTER WITH CABIN.  THE STEERING WAS DESIGNED AS A LEVER THAT MOVED RIGHT TO LEFT INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD TURNING WHEEL.  IT FEATURED A SINGLE CYLINDER ENGINE THAT WAS CAPABLE OF RUNNING IN TWO DIRECTIONS, ALLOWING THE CAR TO DRIVE IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. IN 1955 THE CAR BROKE 22 INTERNATIONAL RECORDS INCLUDING THE 24HR SPEED RECORD FOR ITS CLASS.  THE ENTIRE CABIN ROOF, INCLUDING CANOPY AND SIDE WINDOWS WOULD RAISE TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE IN-LINE PASSENGER SEATING.  THIS EXAMPLE HAS WENT THROUGH A THOROUGH RESTORATION.  IT FEATURES RARE FENDER ACCENTS AND DELUXE HUP CAPS.

The CityEl is a 3-wheel light-weight electric car currently made in Germany by CityCom AG.

 
1992 Mini-El 'Basic' side viewThe CityEl was originally developed as the Mini-El by Danish company El Trans As in Randers and was first brought onto the market by them in 1987. After El Trans As had to give up production in 1988 and two subsequent manufacturers (Eltrans1 A/S in 1991 and Eltrans89 A/S in 1995), Citycom Denmark A/S, a German investor, took over and moved the company to Aub. The production is now in Aub-Baldersheim.

The vehicle is for one person, seated centrally. Rather than conventional doors, the whole top-half of the vehicle hinges upwards on gas-struts allowing access to the cockpit. An optional child seat allows the car to carry a child (up to 8 years), sitting behind the front seat on the engine compartment, facing backwards. The driver operates car-like controls (steering wheel, brake and throttle pedals) although the vehicle is classed as an electric motorcycle in some countries.

There have been three body styles since production started. The 'Basic' version has a completely solid roof. Some versions have plexiglass side-windows. The Convertible was a fully open version no-longer made by CityCom. In its place the 'Targa' version was constructed, with a removable centre soft top but solid rear windows. In America the City El was sold with a different roof, made out of fibreglass. [1] This roof is slightly different from the factory-built City El roof.
 

BUILT IN CHICAGO, THIS MONARK SIVER WAS BUILT TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE FOUNDING OF OUR COUNTRY.  BUILT IN 1976 AND IS IN PRESTINE ORIGINAL CONDITION. 

The Moskvitch 412 (Moskvich 412, M-412), also called 2140 in 1975 prior to discontinuation and 1500 SL outside USSR, is a small family car produced by Soviet manufacturer MZMA/AZLK from 1967 to 1976. It was also built as the Izh 412 by IZH in Izhevsk from 1967 to 1982 and replaced by the spun off Izh Comby series thereafter. The 412, although featuring many flaws gradually fixed with its replacement, was one of the best known third generation Moskvitches and, until 1974, the best selling car in the history of AZLK.

Basically, Moskvitch 412 was an upgrade of the 408 model in terms of engine features, as much as the second generation M-403 was an upgrade of the 402/407. Falsely, both cars are often considered as one chain of succession, which is incorrect since the 412 was in planned development before the 408 production began, simply offering more features to the driver for more expenses. Unlike 407, the car was made affordable by the absence of concurrency in many Eastern Bloc countries (besides its own relative, the 408).

The 1500 cc was a slant inline-4 engine. Block, head and inlet manifold were aluminium castings. Steel cylinder liners were replaceable to enable easy repair of the engine instead of having to replace it entirely. The same engine was used on Moskvitch cars until the sixth generation (2142).

In 1969 both the 412 and the related 408 had their body and taillights redesigned. These were notable for being the first Moskvitch models to feature square headlights and vertical rear lights and triangular turn signals, which passed on to the 2138/2140 in 1976. Until then, the 412 profited from heightened tailfins and tanned headlight lamps on export models. Another notable (but not unique, since it was used in other Russian cars at the time) feature were the so-called side lamps, mounted on the C-pillars on some vehicles (something like the American "opera lights").

Outside USSR, the 412 received contradictory reviews. At the time, Soviet automotive industry was mainly focusing on powertrain and speed handling, overlooking such issues as design, seating comfort and safety. Therefore, M-412 was the first Moskvitch to pass safety features test in France, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Sweden in 1970—71 and Germany in 1972, which might have seemed standard for Western car brand-influenced Europe, but was a considerable breakthrough for the Soviet engineers. The design features, however, would not be given consideration for Moskvitch as far as until its fourth generation, the Aleko.

In 1975, it was planned to rename both M-408 and M-412 respectively as M-2138 and M-2140, primarily because AZLK was passing to 4-digit model codes, but also because of an earlier adaptation to the real M-2140, which entered in production starting 1976. Therefore, the only difference between this model and its successor, at the time, was the engine change.
